From the vantage point of Laitikkala’s village roads and waterways it is easy to see that farming and forestry traditions are still strong here. Sugar beet and various grains are farmed, as are dairy cows, beef cattle, pigs, chickens and (less traditionally!) alpacas.
In the last few decades the little village of Laitikkala has developed its own “food route” featuring locally-produced cheese, wine, bread and meat. These delicious treats – along with our renowned berries – have won over many a foodie!
